The main areas of duties and responsibilities of the Advocacy & Communication Officer are as follow:
Provide support to Project Manager in arranging advocacy meetings;
Coordinate Advocacy Unit’s relations with other programs and units.
Development of Advocacy Plan for the Accountability Project
Draft and take advocacy letters to the relevant organizations/ministries.
Collect data on national budget from Ministry of Finance and other stakeholders.
Deliver trainings on Advocacy Sessions
Support Advocacy Unit in organizing advocacy events;
Carry out advocacy reports to the project manager;
Translate documents into English, Dari and/or Pashto;
Clear the advance payments with finance departments.
Produce events reports, and filing of project documents;
Provide data for IT department,
Update and monitor the SCAWO’s Website, Facebook Page, Twitter Page and etc.
Any other tasks given by the Advocacy Manager;
Experience, Knowledge, skills and abilities
1-2 years of working experience in the field of advocacy and/programme;
Excellent advocacy knowledge and experience;
Excellent knowledge and skills of report writing;
Experiences of conducting workshops and conferences;
Ability to translate documents in English Dari and/or Pashto;
Excellent computer skills of Ms. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
Ability to develop relations with government, donors and CSOs;
Result-oriented and able to deliver within tight deadlines;
Willing to work overtime if requested by SCAWO’s management;
Ability to follow instructions;

A Bachelor degree in Law/ Economics /Political or Social Science.
